FORUT (The Research Foundation at UiT) becomes Norut - Northern Research Institute in 1992. This marks the foundation for what would later become Norinnova.

Tromsø Research Park is founded, and building no. 1, also known as the "Non-stop" building, is completed

MABIT is established: a business-oriented R&D program for marine biotechnology in Northern Norway

Norut Medicine and Health became the official Technology Transfer Office (TTO) for the University Hospital of North Norway

Telediagnose (later Well Diagnostics, acquired by Dips in 2008) is established as the first academic spin-out from Norut Medicine and Health.

Inkubator Tromsø is established with support from Siva, Innovation Norway, and the Municipality of Tromsø.

The company now has an annual revenue of 12 million NOK.

In 2003, Forskningsparken i Tromsø AS changed its name to NorInnova AS, and Building 2 was completed.

The first formal invention from UNN (DOFI) was submitted. This invention would later become Prophylix Pharma.

Based on the revised Employees' Inventions Act, UiT needed to collaborate with a technology transfer office. This laid the foundation for Norut Medicine and Health becoming TTO Nord.

The company now has 10 employees.
Norinnova Invest AS was established with 271.5 million NOK for seed and venture investments.

The company's portfolio included Dualog, which achieved a successful exit in 2023.

Building phase 3, a combined laboratory and office building, is completed in Tromsø Research Park.

TTO Nord and NorInnova merge to form Norinnova Technology Transfer.

The company's annual revenue is 24 million NOK.

UiT becomes the largest owner in the company, and Norinnova AS, as we know it today, is established.

Norinnova relocates to newly renovated premises in Building 2, and Inkubator Tromsø becomes Startup IX

The first Scaleup IX program was conducted, with participants including Avju, Marealis, and Keenious.

Norinnova now has 20 employees.

The first Arctic Ignite program was conducted with support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

We achieved an "all-time high" of 38 new research-based inventions reported from UiT and UNN.

Siva Innovation Centre Tromsø begins construction of its fourth building phase, and the complex is once again named Forskningsparken Tromsø (Tromsø Research Park).

This building will later be known as "The World's Northernmost BREEAM-NOR Outstanding" certified building.

A Milestone Year for Norinnova:
-revenue exceeding 39 million NOK
-25 employees
-Became an ESA Bic node
-Achieved a historical high in externally funded innovation projects, totaling over 60 million NOK
