How we work with you as a researcher

The entire process is free of charge.

Idea presentation
Do you have research findings or an innovative idea with the potential to make an impact? We want to hear from you. You can start by sharing your idea via email or the DOFI form (Disclosure of Invention), or simply reach out to us for an informal conversation.
Idea assessment
After you present your idea and submitted a DOFI (Disclosure of Invention), we begin the evaluation process. We assess its uniqueness, market needs, potential competition, and commercial viability. If your idea meets these criteria, it progresses to the project phase.
The project phase
In this phase, we create a project plan and take the necessary steps to bring your idea to market. This may involve working with rights (patenting/trademarking), R&D activities, seeking funding, creating prototypes, identifying partners and developing a commercial strategy.
Commercialization phase
In this phase, your product or service is ready for market launch. This can be done either by licensing the invention to existing businesses or by starting a new company, responsible for further production, marketing and sales.

Complete the standard Disclosure of Invention form (DOFI), and send it by email to UiT and/or UNN with Norinnova on Copy. Norinnova AS has commercialization responsibility for UiT and UNN as their Technology Transfer Office (TTO). Use the following addresses:
